The Polo Belt is a considered tribute to the storied gaucho belt, long worn by polo players and enthusiasts, on and off the field.
Reimagining an icon demands restraint. We have honoured the original design while refining it for the modern wearer. At its heart, the essential elements remain unchanged: fine leather, bold team colours, cotton braiding, and a solid buckle.
Where ours differs is in its execution.
Each belt is crafted from English bridle leather, a material long associated with British saddlery, chosen for its strength, depth of colour, and ability to acquire character with wear. It is paired with intricately woven cotton braiding and set with a polished nickel buckle selected for weight and longevity.
Every William J. D. Broad & Co. belt is handmade in England by a master artisan with decades of experience. Produced in small batches and hand-finished, each piece is cut, shaped and inspected with care before it leaves the workshop. A story of considered craftsmanship, from the first cut to the final stitch.
Designed to be worn often and kept, it will soften and settle naturally with use. Because when your future is built one year at a time, build it with people who matter, in garments that last.

Sizing and Perfect Fit Promise
Every William J. D. Broad & Co. polo belt is handmade to order in England.
We do not hold surplus inventory or produce excess stock. Each belt is cut and finished as part of small batches. This allows us to uphold our standards of craftsmanship and operate responsibly in limited numbers.
For this reason, we are unable to accept refunds based on sizing.
However, we stand behind the fit of every belt we make and if your belt does not fit quite as expected on receipt, we will recut and adjust it at no additional cost within four weeks of initial receipt. Please contact us with your order number of additional details.
How to Choose Your Size
We recommend selecting your belt size using your standard trouser waist size in inches.
From where the buckle meets the leather to the middle hole of the strap equals your trouser size plus 2.5 inches.
Example:
A belt labelled 32" measures approximately 34.5" from the buckle base to the middle hole.
Simply select your usual trouser size and we will take care of the calculation.
If you wear your belt higher on the waist, we recommend measuring a current belt for accuracy. Please refer to our detailed size guide for clear, step-by-step instructions.

Care & Maintenance
Crafted from natural materials, each William J. D. Broad & Co. belt reflects the character of English bridle leather and woven cotton.
The leather is dyed and sealed with a protective finish; however, during initial wear, a small degree of colour transfer onto lighter fabrics may occur. This is a natural characteristic of richly dyed leather and will diminish with use.
To preserve the leather’s depth and suppleness, we recommend occasional application of a clear, neutral leather cream. Avoid excessive moisture and allow the belt to dry naturally if exposed to rain.
With considered care, your belt will retain its structure and character - accompanying you with quiet distinction for many years to come.
